Hands-On Seminar: The Practical Application of Modal & ODS Testing

Data Physics invites you to attend the Hands-On Modal Testing and Analysis Seminar presented by Navcon Engineering, Fullerton, CA USA. More than 1,200 test engineers, test technicians and finite element analysts have attended the seminar since 1991. This is a technology-based training, not a manufacturer’s training. However, Data Physics data acquisition systems are used extensively throughout the 4-days to conduct impact and shaker modal tests, time and frequency domain operational deflection shape tests (ODS) and a number of other hands-on laboratories.

Attendees are paired in groups of two. Each group is provided a Data Physics data acquisition system, test instrumentation and test structures. They make their own hands-on measurements, and perform their own data analysis. Every attendee will also receive a fully functional 30-day license of MEscope™ and FEMtools™ for the modal/ODS analysis, FEM-Test Correlation and FE model updating.

Seminar Overview

It is the course objective, that when attendees complete the training, they will be able to plan and conduct Modal/GVT tests and Operational Deflection Shape (ODS) tests on their own. Modal test theory is presented from an experimentalist’s point of view. A special emphasis is placed on test instrumentation, data acquisition, measurements  (Frequency Response, Coherence, Power Spectra, etc.)  and relating the measurements to the physical and modal properties of the test item.

Natalie Myers joined Vic Myers Associates in September 2021 and is excited to be part of the team. She received her bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix and prior to her position as Inside Sales Administration she worked in the Hospitality Industry for over 15 years as a Senior Sales Administrator.
